They loved being out in the rain and amazingly didn't have much interest in splashing in the puddles even after I encouraged them to do so.I wanted to make a cake yesterday, so in keeping with our theme, I made my own umbrella template. The kids and I baked a yummy vanilla buttercream umbrella cake with rain drop cupcakes. The kids love to help in the kitchen. Baking is their favorite because they get to scoop, measure and pour. I like it because I can sneak a little math in there while they're not looking.
We did many of the age appropriate activities for the PreK Letter U and had so much fun matching shapes, counting, tracing, and sorting. I am constantly amazed at how quickly they learn. They are little sponges.
I liked the letter U memory verse too: “Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks.” Psalm 75:1
We traced the letter U in shaving cream and combined that with a craft I had seen and liked at Chasing Cheerios. Josiah was all for it. He really got into the mixing and did some letter U tracing too.
The final products look quite good. The picture doesn't do them justice.
The upper right hand corner is Josiah and my attempt at the letter U, but as expected, you can't really tell. Alexandra let Mama mix her colors for her, but she was thrilled to use the squeegee. My two little ones really were meant to be together. Josiah loved the getting dirty and mixing and Alexandra loved the squeegeeing the final projects.

This is awesome, I love the umbrella cake and your vid of your wonderful children. The Bible verse is the best.
