The Famous Carpenters

We had lunch today at Boston Market...... where we met the Coens, the Schmidts, and the Tennants! We had such a good time with Candy, Henry, William, Susan, Jeremy, Marissa, Annika, Benaiah, Jill, Marshall, and Silas!Apparently, we Carpenters are famous. It must be so because Jill said so. I guess when you are one of the first families to travel to Ethiopia, your famous by default. We'll take it.

As Susan said, no introductions were necessary because even though we hadn't met in person before, we knew each other. It was like having dinner with old friends. It's such a blessing that God has brought so many wonderful people into our lives through our adoption. It just one more way Josiah and Alexandra have been such a blessing to us.I think Josiah would have been happy to spend all day just running around a playing with all the kids. Jeremy and Marissa had a good time tickling Josiah.Josiah is super ticklish. As Jeremy said, "he's the only boy I can tickle from ten feet away." We were sad to leave, but we'll hopefully see everyone again soon.

We would have loved to see the Forrests too, but thankfully, they are on their way to Ethiopia to bring their two little ones home. We're so happy for them and will be blog stalking during their travels.

We then hopped into the car to head for Wilkesboro and my grandpa's. Thankfully and uncharacteristically, both kiddos fell asleep as soon as we got into the car and slept the whole three hours until we arrived at Rose Glen. We had a wonderful evening with "Papa Tatro" and Grandma Judy, full of tales from the last nine years since I've seen them last and ending with this:

I'm jealous--on all accounts. Jealous that you guys got to see everyone in NC and jealous that they got to have lunch with The Carpenters. If Jill said it, then it's so :)
Glad to see you back!
