National Adoption Month

In case you were unaware, November is National Adoption Awareness Month! It's a wonderful time to celebrate the miracle of adoption and to educate others about adoption. We donated some of our adoption books to our local library after I noticed that there weren't many current books available. I chickened out and didn't ask them to feature adoption this month. I have a year to work up to courage to do so next year.

I think the best way to celebrate is to pray for everyone involved in adoption, particularly the children. Kingdom Vision International is asking for exactly that here. For other great ideas about how to celebrate, check out the National Adoption Awareness website.

I also stumbled across this Adoption Poems site and the poem entitled Daydreaming by Tom Fisher brought back memories of our wait. This poem reminds me of the joy it is to be an adoptive mother:
